Quang Nam can be hit by severe floods and typhoons, affecting the lives of thousands of families. CHIA’s Housing project helps children from the poorest families have safe and secure housing, replacing their palm leaf and bamboo huts with brick and concrete 1.5 storey homes. Working with the local government agencies that identify families at risk, we aim to replace their flimsy housing with a safe and adequate brick house to bring security and decent living conditions for the family.

Water and sanitation projects are also undertaken to improve the quality of drinking water and improve standards of hygiene. Private donors are sought to finance the construction of toilet and shower blocks for poor families, to ensure that their children have a better quality of life.
