CHIA has already begun prioritising and supporting the backlog of children needing assistance. In parallel, we are implementing processes to facilitate Early Detection and Early Intervention, which will enable the best prognosis for future cases. By 2009, CHIA would like to have established a clinic which will provide broad disability and health education services and a Post-Operative Care Unit, where mother and child can stay on discharge from hospital, until the mother has learned enough about how to care for her child post-operatively. CHIA hopes to also run mobile clinics into the far reaches of Quang Nam province, delivering medical assistance and education.
